I actually had a simular situation to yours when my cat died on Friday the 13th o.o; And occationally you can (Unfortunatly) smell him. So I would think they could be ghosts. Intresting thought provoking question :) -Dr.Stargazer |

I believe that anything with a soul can be a ghost. We used to have a black ghost cat running around our house. I named him Myles. I haven't seen it in a long time though. |

I think they can, sure. I see my cat Gus quite a bit, and his surviving sister, Roxy, sees him, too. She's got mixed feelings. She obviously misses him, but she digs being the only cat. USMC0705 |

There is a series on the animal planet channel called animal x or something like that where the investigate the possibility of animal ghosts. :) |

i used to see a cat at my old house a few years ago. also it would rub up against my leg. freaked me out the first time it did that,lol. :D:D |

Yes, somehow I think they can be ghosts of some sort. I put my scotty to sleep and both my daughter and I began hearing him jump at the back door..he always did it very gently, he'd tap his nails against the door and that is what we heard for about a week several times a day. Finally after hearing the tapping noise one two many times and my daughter getting scared, I opened the back door and called his name and told him to come in. We never heard the sound again after that. |

Since our pets have souls just as humans have, it is a very common thing when they have passed on for them to come back and make their presence known to us.They miss us just as we miss them. I have been visited by my own beloved pets and I am always so glad to see them. Some people even report seeing large animals that they have loved too ... such as horses etc. And sometimes large dogs will come back to protect someone they have loved when they perceive that they are in danger from someone . |

After I lost my German shepherd; Samson...I walked to the location where I lay him to rest...While I was walking up the road, I saw a German shepherd that looked quite a lot like him, thinking it was a neighbor's dog who looked a great deal like Sam, at first I thought I was only Imagining this., and too lack of sleep since his demise...( Someone turned him loose and he ran out in front of a car)...But the longer I walked I kept my eyes on this big shepherd and it seemed as if he was waiting on me...I felt fear at first, then the dog sat down on his haunches..still waiting...and when I called the shepherd the same nickname I used to call my shepherd, he wagged his tail...looked at me and then turned around as if to walk away...I watched the dog until he disappeared farther up the hill...I don't know what I saw really, but would like to believe it was my shepherd I saw.....T/C |

Yes! I have had this happen to me. I believe my cat Leo was a ghost. He used to jump on my bed and do that stuff. It was actually really cool!! ~*HeavensLilSin*~ |

I think my little dog and cat which are gone now, did get on the bed at night and lay at my feet and legs. I felt a pressure.
I have not experienced in awhile now, but I would be thrilled to have them visit again and even get a picture. That would put me at rest with my losses. |
